1 of 300 cars made to commemorate the model 96 series end of production, which ran from 1960 to 1980. This car has 100 actual miles (160km). It was purchased by a Russian professor who was working and living in Sweden, and was a firm believer in Communism. She owned a 1973 96, which she loved. When she heard the 96 model would be discontinued in 1980, she decided to buy this car. Two weeks after delivery of the car, her brother was killed in a car accident. She no longer wished to drive a car by herself. So this car sat under cover, in her garage, for the next 37 years! It was discovered by Fredrik and Gerda of Stockholm, Sweden and a deal was brokered to purchase it and bring it to the USA! The car was on display through 2017 in Sweden, for it’s exceptionally clean original condition and low mileage. It was also written up in several magazine articles in Sweden. I mentioned the previous owner was a communist from Russia because later in life as she spent time in socialistic Sweden she became a Socialist!
